Description

10 Blocks is a deceptively simple block puzzle in the style of a grid-filling brain teaser. You are given sets of shaped pieces and an empty board, and the goal is to place the pieces so that complete rows or columns form and clear away. It sounds easy for the first minute; staying alive once the board fills up is where the real game begins.

The controls could not be simpler: drag each offered block onto the grid and drop it where you want it. Whenever a horizontal row or vertical column is completely filled, those blocks disappear and free up space. Pieces cannot be rotated, so the shape you are given is the shape you must work with, and the game ends when none of the remaining blocks fit anywhere on the board.

Scoring well is about long-term board management rather than clearing lines as fast as possible. Early on it is tempting to drop pieces anywhere, but careless placement leaves awkward single-cell gaps that no available block can fill. As the board gets crowded, one bad decision can trap you with a large piece and nowhere to put it.

Two habits separate high scores from quick defeats. First, keep the center of the board as open as you can and build along the edges, which preserves room for the big, clunky shapes. Second, plan two or three moves ahead by checking all the pieces currently on offer before placing any of them. And remember the gravity button: you can use it only once, so save it for the moment you are genuinely stuck rather than spending it on mild inconvenience.

Players who enjoy 1010-style puzzles, Tetris-like spatial thinking, or quiet games that reward patience over reflexes will find this an absorbing way to fill a spare ten minutes.
