Akochan Quest
Description
Akochan Quest is a 2D anime-styled platformer built around a simple promise: every necklace on the stage is yours if you can survive the things guarding it. You play as Akochan, a girl making her way through a series of hostile levels packed with monsters, machinery, and very few safe places to stand.
The controls are straightforward. You move with the WASD keys or the arrow keys, and pressing W or the up arrow twice performs a double jump, which quickly becomes the single most important move in the game. Each level asks you to collect every necklace while avoiding zombies, heart monsters, saws, and rotating blades, then reach the yellow flag to unlock the next stage. Brushing against a hazard is costly, so most of the challenge lies in reading a room before you commit to a jump rather than reacting at the last second.
There are eight levels in total, and the difficulty rises steadily as you continue. Early stages are generous, with wide platforms and slow enemies that teach you the rhythm of the double jump. Later stages tighten the spacing, speed up the traps, and tuck necklaces into corners that demand a perfectly timed second press at the very peak of your arc. The rotating blades in particular punish hesitation, turning what looks like a short hop into a genuine test of nerve.
A few habits will carry you through the back half of the game. Stop at each new screen and watch the patrol patterns of the zombies before moving, because most of them are predictable once you give them a moment. Plan your necklace route so you never have to backtrack through a trap you already passed, and remember that the double jump resets only when you land, so use the second press late rather than early for maximum distance.
Akochan Quest is a good fit for players who enjoy compact, methodical platformers where every death feels like your own fault. Eight levels sounds modest, but finishing the last few is a real badge of patience.
