Description
Block Pile is a minimalist puzzle game with one rule that sounds easy and turns out not to be: stack blocks of different colors, and never place the same color twice in a row. Break that rule and the run is over, the player dies, and you start the game again from the beginning. That single constraint turns a simple stacking exercise into a tense test of attention and timing.
Blocks arrive one at a time above your pile, and you place them with a tap or click, timing the drop so each block lands squarely on the stack. The catch is that you do not fully control which color comes next, so every placement is a small decision. You need to watch both the incoming block and the top of your tower, because a moment of distraction is all it takes to repeat a color and lose everything.
The early part of a run is calm and forgiving, giving you time to settle into the rhythm of dropping blocks cleanly. As the pile grows, the pace picks up and the color sequences get trickier to manage, forcing you to think a move or two ahead instead of reacting to whatever appears. Since a single mistake ends the game, long runs feel genuinely earned, and chasing a taller stack becomes the whole point.
The most useful skill is staying one block ahead in your head. Before you drop, confirm the color of the block currently on top and the one you are holding, and never rush a placement just because the game is speeding up. Clean, centered drops also matter, since a crooked tower leaves you less room to work with when the pressure rises.
