Description
CenterBall is a compact arcade puzzler built around a single tense idea: grow the background area while an enemy hunts you down, and do not get caught. Every round is a balancing act between greed and caution, because the more space you try to claim, the longer you leave yourself exposed.
The core mechanic is territory expansion. You move your ball out from the safe zone to draw new sections of background, then retreat before the enemy touches you. Controls are directional and straightforward, using arrow keys or swipes depending on your device, so the challenge comes from decision-making rather than complicated inputs. If the enemy catches you while you are mid-expansion, the run is over.
What makes the game interesting is how the risk scales. Small, timid expansions are safe but slow, and the enemy has plenty of time to close in on you. Big bold stretches of growth finish a level faster but leave you stranded far from safety if the enemy changes direction at the wrong moment. As levels advance, the pressure rises and the margin for error shrinks, which keeps even short rounds genuinely gripping.
The most reliable strategy is patience with bursts of aggression. Watch the enemy's movement pattern for a moment before committing to a big expansion, and strike when it drifts to the far side of the field. Build up territory in a series of medium chunks rather than one heroic run across the whole screen, and always leave yourself a short path back to solid ground. Chasing the last few percent of a level is where most runs die, so learn to recognize when a safe finish beats a greedy one.
