Description
Double Blob takes a simple idea and turns it into a genuine test of coordination. You are in charge of two birds flying side by side through an endless vertical course, and walls with small holes keep sliding into their path. One bird is manageable. Two at the same time, each needing to thread its own gap, is where your brain starts to sweat. It is an endless avoid-and-collect game, so there is no finish line, only the question of how long you can keep both birds alive.
The controls are as minimal as the concept. You guide the birds up and down the screen, lining each one up with the opening in the oncoming wall. The challenge is that your attention has to split constantly between the two of them, and a wall that is easy for the left bird might leave the right one in serious trouble. One bad line-up and a bird clips the wall, ending the run.
The game is kind enough to start slowly, giving you time to get used to steering two characters at once. Do not get comfortable, though. After a couple of minutes the pace climbs steadily, the walls come faster, and the holes start to feel a lot smaller than they did at the beginning. Surviving the later stages takes real reflexes and a calm head.
The most useful habit to build is keeping your eyes in the middle of the screen rather than locked on one bird. Watching both at once lets you spot which bird is in danger earlier. It also helps to make small corrections instead of big panicked movements, since oversteering one bird usually means forgetting the other entirely.
