Description

Five hundred years of imprisonment would sour anyone's mood, and Glauron, First of the Winged Dragons, has emerged from his long captivity with a serious grudge. In Glauron: dragon tales you do not play the hero defending the kingdom. You are the dragon, and the kingdom is your target.

The core loop puts you in control of Glauron as he swoops over villages and countryside, breathing fire on the unfortunate citizens below. The controls are straightforward flying and attack inputs: steer the dragon across the screen, dive toward targets, and unleash flame to cause maximum destruction. Points come from the havoc you wreak, but the villagers are not helpless. They are armed, and arrows and other projectiles will chip away at your health if you fly carelessly through their lines of fire.

As the game progresses, the settlements fight back harder. What starts as a leisurely rampage over undefended rooftops turns into a careful dance of dodging volleys while picking your moments to strike. Surviving longer and destroying more raises your score, and learning the rhythm of each wave of resistance is the key to pushing further into the tale.

The most important skill is patience in the air. Swooping low at every opportunity feels great but leaves you exposed to ground fire, so the smarter approach is to attack in fast passes, climb back out of range, and only commit to long strafing runs when the defenders are reloading or scattered. Watch for the armed villagers before you dive, because an unseen archer is usually what ends a good run.

Players who like arcade action with a mischievous twist will enjoy being on the other side of the dragon story for once. It is a simple, punchy game of aerial revenge that is easy to pick up and surprisingly tense once the kingdom starts shooting back.
