Lines - Air Balloons is a relaxed puzzle game built on a beautifully simple rule: line up five or more balloons of the same color and they pop, earning you points. The board starts out open and inviting, with a handful of colorful balloons scattered across a grid, and your only job is to keep making lines for as long as you can. It sounds gentle, and it is, right up until the board starts filling in around you.
Each turn you pick one balloon and move it to an empty square, as long as there is a clear path for it to travel. After every move that does not complete a line, new balloons drift onto the board in random spots, slowly crowding your space. Form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row of five or more matching balloons and that line disappears, freeing up room and adding to your score. The game continues until the board is so full that no moves remain, so the real objective is to score as many points as possible before that happens.
Difficulty in this style of game is self-inflicted in the best way. The early turns feel effortless, and that is exactly when careless players set themselves up for disaster by scattering colors everywhere. As the board fills, open paths between squares become rare and precious, and every move has to be weighed against the three new balloons about to land. Long chains and lines of more than five balloons are where the big scores live, so the game constantly tempts you to hold out for a better setup.
Strong players think in clusters rather than single moves. Try to keep one area of the board as open working space, build your colors near each other so a single shift can complete a line, and never make a move without checking where the next balloons might land. Clearing a line of five is good, but setting up a position where one move clears two lines at once is how you survive the crowded late game.
