Description

Maxoo is a compact 2D platformer that packs its challenge into eight tightly designed levels. Your mission in each stage is to collect every silver key scattered around the map and then reach the Exit door to move on. Standing between you and that door are ball enemies bouncing along the ground, flying robots patrolling the air and pins ready to punish a bad landing, so every key is a small victory earned the hard way.

Controls are classic and responsive. Use the WASD keys or the arrow keys to move, and press W or the Up arrow to jump. A double tap of the jump key gives you a double jump, which is the single most important move in the game. Mastering the height and distance of that second jump opens up keys that look unreachable and lets you recover from mistakes that would otherwise end the run.

Difficulty ramps steadily across the eight levels. The first stage is a friendly introduction where keys sit in obvious places and enemies move in simple patterns. By the middle of the game, silver keys are tucked above spike-lined gaps and guarded by robots with awkward flight paths, and the final levels demand precise double jumps chained together without hesitation. Eight levels might sound short, but clearing them all without losing your patience is a real accomplishment.

A few tips will save you many restarts. Watch each enemy's movement pattern for a full cycle before committing to a jump, because the ball enemies and flying robots are predictable once you study them. Save your double jump for emergencies rather than using it on every hop, since you often need the second jump mid-air to correct a bad angle. Plan a route that collects keys in a sensible order, ending near the Exit door, so you are never forced to cross the whole map twice.

This one suits players who like precise, no-frills platforming with a clear finish line. It is free to play in your browser, making it an easy recommendation for a lunch-break challenge.
