Mr Babo
Description
Eight levels, a handful of golden keys, and one very locked golden door stand between Mr Babo and the exit. Mr Babo is a 2D platform game in the classic mold: run, jump, collect every key in the stage, and reach the golden door without feeding yourself to the spikes, saws, and patrolling enemies in between.
Movement uses the WASD keys or the arrow keys, and the standout mechanic is the double jump, triggered by pressing W or the Up arrow a second time while airborne. That extra mid-air hop is the heart of the game, letting you clear wide saw pits, correct a bad leap, or reach a key perched on a platform that looks just out of range. Each level ends when you have gathered the golden keys and slipped through the door they unlock.
The difficulty curve is honest and steady, climbing as you proceed through all eight levels. Early stages teach the basics with forgiving jumps and a single hazard type at a time, but later levels start combining threats, placing spikes below moving saws and enemies along the only route to a key. By the final stages the double jump stops being a convenience and becomes a survival tool, and finishing level eight demands the kind of precision the first level never mentions.
A few habits make the journey much smoother. Scout the key locations before committing to a route, since some keys are clearly meant to be grabbed last on the way to the door. Save the second half of your double jump whenever possible instead of spending it immediately, because holding that extra hop in reserve rescues more falls than any other skill. And learn enemy patrol patterns before moving; most deaths in this game come from rushing a corridor that was safe two seconds earlier.
Mr Babo suits fans of old-school platformers who like compact levels with a clear collect-and-escape goal. It is simple to pick up, fair in its challenge, and satisfying in the way only a well-timed double jump over a saw blade can be.
