Description

Slips is a compact little puzzle game built around one delightfully odd idea: to hit the target, you have to dig underneath the cubes and let gravity do the work. It sounds simple, and it is, right up until the clock starts pressuring you and the cube layouts stop cooperating.

Each round presents a small arrangement of cubes with a white target waiting somewhere in the structure. Your task is to dig out the supporting material beneath the right cubes so that everything slides, tips, or drops in a way that strikes the target. The catch is the time limit: you only have a few seconds per puzzle, so there is no room for careful deliberation. You read the setup, commit to a dig, and find out immediately whether your instinct was right.

The challenge ramps up in the way the cube structures are arranged. Early puzzles are nearly self-solving, teaching you how the pieces behave when their support vanishes. Before long the game starts stacking cubes in taller, more precarious towers, hiding the white target in awkward corners, and demanding that you trigger collapses in a specific order. What began as a physics toy quietly becomes a test of spatial reasoning under pressure.

The single most valuable skill is learning to visualize the fall before you dig. Trace in your mind which cube will move first, what it will knock loose, and where the sliding mass will end up, all in the couple of seconds the timer allows. When a puzzle has multiple dig spots, the cube closest to the target is usually a trap; the correct answer is often the support furthest away, whose collapse starts a chain. If you fail a round, watch how the pieces actually fell, because the game is teaching you its physics one mistake at a time.

Slips is perfect for puzzle fans who like their challenges bite-sized and their rules instantly clear. Rounds take seconds, retries are instant, and the just-one-more pull of beating a tricky layout is remarkably strong for such a minimal game.
