Towra
Description
Towra is a compact 2D platformer built around a simple ritual: collect the keys scattered through each stage, survive everything the level throws at you, and reach the tower door to climb to the next floor. Eight levels stand between you and the top, and the tower does not give up its heights easily.
Movement uses the classic keyboard setup — WASD or the arrow keys handle running left and right, and pressing W or the Up arrow twice triggers a double jump. That double jump is the heart of the game's mobility, letting you correct a short leap, reach high ledges, or change direction mid-air to dodge a hazard you misjudged. Learning its timing and height is the first step toward mastering the tower.
The hazards come in familiar but deadly forms: patrolling enemies, spinning saws, and beds of spikes, all arranged with increasing cruelty as you climb. Early levels teach you the vocabulary — a saw here, a spike pit there — while later floors combine them into sequences that demand precise, confident movement. The difficulty curve is steady and fair, so by the time the tower gets mean, your skills have grown to match it.
Practical survival comes down to rhythm and patience. Watch an enemy's patrol loop before committing to a jump over it, and remember that the keys are the objective, not speed — grab them in whatever order feels safest rather than beelining past danger. Save your double jump for recovery whenever possible instead of spending it early in a leap, since that second burst of height is often your only escape from a bad bounce. And when a section beats you repeatedly, slow down; most deaths come from rushing a jump you have already proven you can make.
Towra suits players who enjoy tight, no-nonsense platforming in short sessions. Eight levels make it a satisfying one-sitting challenge, and the escalating tower structure gives every cleared floor a real sense of progress.
