Who we are
BverGame is independently run by two people — Max handles operations, content, and writing; Leo handles engineering, game code, and audio. We've known each other for almost ten years. We worked at the same product company once, went separate ways, and came back together late 2024 to make this site.
Neither of us is from the games industry. So we don't build "AAA titles" — we build the kind of game you play for two subway stops and feel okay about. Casual but not careless. That's the bar we set.
Why we built this
By 2024 we were both burnt out on the App Store. A utility app took seven days to clear review, ad slots were brutal, and user acquisition cost six times what it did three years ago. One afternoon Leo opened a 2048 in a browser tab and played for twenty minutes. He looked up and said, "Let's just make a website. No app, no login, no subscription."
That's where BverGame started. A regression. What we wanted to do was simple:
- User opens site → sees games → taps one → plays immediately
- No signup, no permissions, no membership, no "unlock at level 3"
- Every game written by us. Every article typed by us.
Our editorial principles
Play first. Write after. If we haven't played it, we don't comment on it.
For every review on this site, Max plays the game to at least one full "frustration node" before writing. That means hitting 1024 in 2048 at least once. Reaching 200+ in Snake at least once. Clearing Intermediate Minesweeper at least once. Otherwise we don't write about it.
For every game Leo builds, two non-gamer friends have to play it without complaining "I don't get it" before it ships. We don't build "hardcore." We build "find your rhythm in 30 seconds."
The Team
Max
Ten years in internet products. Shipped three apps, ran a finance content desk. Handles all of BverGame's writing — reviews, guides, industry takes — and every reader email. Favorite game: a Chinese escape room series called "Case Zero." Most-feared genre: horror.
Leo
Full-stack engineer, eight years' experience. Android and Web background. Has shipped audio engines and real-time data visualization. Coded all 24 games on this site from scratch using native Canvas API and Web Audio API — no third-party engine. Writes synthesizers after work.
Our commitments
- Originality: Every game, article, and illustration on this site is original. Games inspired by classics (2048, Snake) credit their inspiration on the game page.
- Privacy: We don't collect your name, email, or phone number. Game progress lives in your browser's localStorage and is never uploaded. See Privacy Policy.
- Ads: We run Google AdSense to keep this site alive, but no ads block gameplay, no popups, no autoplay video.
- No-bloat promise: Sounds odd, but real. We are not going to scale this to 100 games. 24 is 24. Make them good, not many.
